3 tips for busy parents this summer!

3 of our top tips to enjoy the summer with your little ones…..

“Every summer for the past 6 years I’ve really struggled to juggle running Mederi and entertaining my two children aged 9 and 6… this year I think I might have got the hang of it!

heres my top 3 tips!”

🌞 Summertime is here, and having two small children of my own I understand the unique challenges that busy parents face over the holidays! ☀️

Here are my top 3 tips!

Our children are only young once so its of the upmost importance to get the diary sorted ahead of schedule. I do sometimes make amendments to the Mederi Diary over the summer which some of you might have noticed. These include closing Tuesdays and reducing working hours in the evenings.

Before Covid I was known to work 7 days a week and every weekend, I missed out on so much from the boys when they were young so now I know to clear some time to be with them. Especially as they grow older and want less cuddles and less time with us.

The time we spend together after working is outside as much as possible and I love that my kids want to be in nature!

Joining forces with other parents is great to keep each other going, my next door neighbours have a lovely little boy so we take it turns to have play dates just to give each other a break and it stops the boys from getting bored just seeing my face!

and thirdly prioritise some time for yourself! its ok to find this time stressful, I find myself shouting over silly things when I am on the 14th question about snacks and trying to make calls and order stuff for the centre. I take a moment to breathe and then apologise about my outburst explaining why I shouted and how I can be calmer moving forward.

Both Leo and Levi are very understanding to this and often say “don’t worry mum”. Having the time outside together to breathe and look at the world around us gives us time to wind down, then I encourage them to run about and exert some energy!

I will try and makesure I continue with PT session once a week with Health Sqd Pt and also maintain a monthly float and sauna. Its super important for our children to know how to look after themselves. Looking after the body and mind equally can be demonstrated by you by ensuring you carve that time out for yourself!

If time is going to be quite limited for you how about popping in for a quick chair massage for 15 minutes. Let the anti gravity massage chair take the knots away as it gives you a head to toe massage in super speedy time!

and if you do have time come and enjoy a float!

Floatation Therapy promotes a deep state of relaxation, the pod is designed to eliminate all external stimuli, inviting you to explore your inner self, discover stillness, connect deeply, and uncover truth.
